Andrea Luciani is the most talented guitar picker I've ever met.
He has blended the styles of his major influences - Bruce Cockburn and James Taylor - into an original technique
which allows him to explore the frets with both consummate technical skill and, importantly, taste.
Impressed by one of his performances at Folkstudio in late 1982, I approached him for a brief chat to discover
a gentle and sensitive soul. An excellent singer and author of many original songs, in 2004 Andrea released
a beautiful album ("Songs From My Past") of original tunes whilst he continues to play locally with the James Taylor
cover-band he founded.
Although we have never worked together on a steady basis, we have often been - and still are! - enjoying the possibility of trading musical ideas, playing in our kitchens or sharing the stage of some small club in Roma.
