  •    HEATIN' SYSTEM

       (late 1981 - early 1983)

In both instrumentation and approach, Heatin' System was my very first truly electric band. Yes, we were quite primitive, but there were some good songs and - most of all - it was fun to make all that noise.
Originally Heatin' System was a trio: Andrea Spadaccino on guitar and vocals, Simone Caneparo on bass and lead vocals, Pierpaolo Cautela on drums. When they asked me to join, sometime around the autumn of 1981, they were already working on several original songs. They sounded like a cross between The Kinks, The Who and The Clash, an interesting mix indeed.
We stayed together for a couple of years and for many more garage rehearsals than gigs, but the 3 shows we played together were the root of my love of being on the stage playing music.
In 1995 we reunited for a short while and we also played a benefit concert with Massimo Di Gianvincenzo subbing for Simone on bass. That was the last time I met the lads but that 'Joe Cool' riff is still ringing in the air.
