My first exposure to the impressive talent of this brilliant guitarist was at some Crosby & Nash shows in Lake Tahoe.
Though it was Jeff's first set of gigs with the duo, he was so comfortable with their songs that it seemed he might
have been playing them forever.
His range of musical experiences (tours, recordings and jams with Greg Allman, Ray Charles,
Joe Cocker, Marc Cohn, Shawn Colvin, Al Dimeola, Donald Fagen, Stan Getz, Rickie Lee Jones, Chaka Khan , B.B. King,
Laura Nyro, Prefab Sprout, Carly Simon, James Taylor amongst others) helped to shape his variegated style.
Jeff Pevar uses his guitar like a tonal palette, and he can bless a song adding a sophisticated touch of colour
just working the volume of his guitar or rock you off your socks with one of his blistering solos.
I also soon found out that Jeff was not only an excellent musician but an exquisite and generous guy, too,
who loves to meet fans after a show and talk about music, guitar tricks and just about anything interesting else.
A few years ago, he graciously accepted my invitation to contribute to my own recording project
and in March 1997 we were in California overdubbing electric guitars and lap steel.
Recently Jeff has added further tracks to my songs and hopefully these recordings
will be available in the near future.
