.: SONNY MONE :.
Originally hailing from the Boston area, Sonny Mone is a great, underrated, singer-songwriter with whom I have been lucky enough
to have a long lasting, albeit long distance, friendship. He began his career as a performer playing live in small clubs and bars
in Massachussets, before moving to California where, in the mid Eighties, he met Billy Talbot.
I met Sonny for the first time in January 1988, when I was visiting Billy Talbot in Southern California
and within a few hours the three of us were playing a gig together!
I was immediately struck by the quality of Sonny's songs and his voice, and by his gentle ways.
Talbot invited Mone to join him, Ralph Molina and Matt Piucci to record "Left for Dead", a Crazy 'sans Sampedro' Horse album
which didn't get much attention from either the press or the public.
In 2000 Sonny put out the independently released "Ride Around the Sun", and is currently working on a
new solo project.
